National Agents Alliance announces hiring of Grannan as Operations and Leadership Consultant

BURLINGTON, N.C. – National Agents Alliance has named Bob Grannan as its Operations and Leadership consultant beginning on Sept. 1.

Grannan was previously with AEGON, Transamerica Life Insurance and Providian Corporations in a number of different roles dating back to 1987. He was the Vice President of Independent Marketing Organizations with Transamerica from 2004-16.

NAA President and CEO Andy Albright said Grannan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in a number of areas that he said would greatly benefit the company.

“Bob is great with people and he loves helping people reach their full potential,” Albright said. “I’ve known Bob for more than 10 years and the relationship has gotten stronger as I’ve spent more and more time around him. He’s going to be an important member of our team and will work closely with our carrier partners and our agent force. We are excited about him joining our team.”

Grannan will be working with Albright on special projects in training, leadership and process in an effort to better understand the market opportunity, and will serve as a mentor with NAA’s corporate staff to improve development and decision making. Grannan will also work closely with Jim Henson, NAA’s Chief Operations Consultant, to build and extend carrier relationships in an effort to improve, enhance and create products to help the agent force serve more clients.

Grannan said the new position provided him with the chance to work with a company that is already strong and help make it even stronger.

“I’ve had the chance to watch Andy and NAA for a number of years now and this is an opportunity for me to be around and work with people that I respect and want to help grow,” Grannan said. “I want to be a valuable resource for our staff, agents and carriers. When I was weighing out my options, it became clear that joining NAA was the right decision for me and my family. I’m very excited about some of the things that I’ve already started working on and look forward to officially taking on this new role on September 1.”

Grannan graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a B.S. in accounting and a minor in finance. He was a member of the Eagles’ varsity basketball team for four seasons.

After graduation, Grannan worked as an audit manager for Ernst & Young, an international accounting firm, where he specialized in banking with extensive experience with manufacturing and retail.

After seven years with Ernst & Young, Grannan was a corporate controller and internal auditor for the Rogers Group, Inc., a privately owned road construction, mining and building supplies company with 100 facilities in seven states.

Grannan and his wife Debra live in Raleigh, N.C. They have four adult children and two grandchildren they enjoy spending time with in their free time.
