The Alliance announces Eric Thomas to deliver keynote address at National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

BURLINGTON, N.C. – Author and motivational speaker Eric Thomas is set to deliver the keynote address at the National Agents Alliance National Convention at the Charlotte Convention Center on Jan. 11, 2014, company president and CEO Andy Albright announced today during his weekly show, The Wednesday Call.

This will be The Alliance’s first national event hosted in the Queen City, where agents from around the United States will converge during the three-day event Jan. 10-12, 2014.

“I can’t wait to get there,” Thomas said Wednesday during a live call during TWC. “Finish the year strong and we will celebrate 2014 together (in Charlotte).”

Thomas, known by many as “The Hip Hop Preacher,” will be one of a number of guest speakers at The Alliance’s National Convention. Past speakers have included: John C. Maxwell, Jon Gordon, Chris Gardner and Dave Anderson.

“We are excited to have Eric Thomas joining us at our event in Charlotte, and we already know that he will rock the house with his message,” Albright said. “Eric gives people hope because of his story, and he truly believes the only difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra that most people aren’t willing to do. I can’t wait to hear what he will share with our team.”

Thomas, the author of “The Secret to Success,” has a unique ability to connect with audiences and his YouTube video series “Thank God It’s Monday” is wildly popular because of the message of hope the videos deliver to people. With high energy, Thomas delivers an encouraging message that people can reach their full potential and break the cycles of crime, hopelessness and despair that many face daily. His personal approach is inspiring and dynamic.

A former high school dropout, Thomas was homeless at 16, but eventually earned his GED. After more than a decade, he earned an undergraduate degree, before following that with a master’s degree in 2005. He is presently pursuing his Ph.D. in education administration at Michigan State University. Thomas is also an activist, educator and minister.

In October this year, Thomas spoke during the inaugural Albright Summit in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Thomas said he’s excited about having the opportunity to share his message with The Alliance, adding that knowing Albright’s vision for the company made him want to speak at the event.

“The stuff Andy’s talking about you can’t get there with an average person’s perspective,” Thomas said. “You gotta get up and go after it. Monday you gotta get it, Tuesday you gotta get it, Wednesday … there absolutely no days off. If you are a human and you woke up today, you can be better than what you were yesterday. I promise you. In 2014, you can do more than you are doing in 2013. If we are going to leave a legacy and 10 and 15 years from now, if they are going to be talking about The Alliance it is going to be because you improved.”
