BURLINGTON, N.C. – Mike and Michele Alleman became the first members of The Alliance to collect multiple Good Samaritan Bonus checks in the same month.
The Houston, Texas couple posted their sixth straight month of at least $20,000 in personal production and surpassed the $30,000 mark in August, September and October. Those highlights earned them two $1,000 checks for charity.
The Allemans selected the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Tim Goad International to receive a $1,000 check each.
Mike Alleman said helping the Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation was important because of the work it does with M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas.
“They do so much here and we have such a great hospital that helps so many people,” Mike Alleman said. “We know it will have a local impact and there are so many kids with life-threatening conditions right here.”
Every 38 minutes Make-A-Wish grants the wish of a child diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition in the United States. Make-A-Wish believes granting these wishes can be life-changing experiences for children.
Tim Goad and his family travel around the world spreading hope for those in need through music and speaking. Goad has been instrumental in helping relief efforts in Haiti. He helped build a medical clinic in Haiti and continues sending food, clothing and vitamins. Goad has also offered relief in India, Russia and Africa.
Michele Alleman said helping the Goads was just a small token of appreciation for all the work the family has done with The Alliance in the last three years.
“We have been blessed many fold through the words and thoughts of Tim and his wife, Gaye,” Michele Alleman said. “We want to ensure that their ministry stays strong and continues to grow and that we remain in partnership for eternity. We already contribute to them, but this was a way for us to give them a boost.”
The Good Samaritan Bonus program offer National Agents Alliance agents the chance to earn up to $7,000 for charities in 2013. These bonuses are awarded in three different areas based on personal production for three, six and 12 straight months.
The Allemans plan to help more charities before 2013 ends, and said they were thankful that National Agents Alliance President and CEO Andy Albright started the GSB program this year.
“I think it helps us put a focus on giving back to our communities,” Mike Alleman said. “Andy could have given us a bonus, but he set this up to get our mind right on helping charities. We didn’t even realize we were in line to get two this month so that was a big bonus. It teaches us great habits and that we need to do great things with our money.”
