St. Maarten, Carribean Sea – May 20, 2010 – “We’re thankful that as you came to enjoy your vacation in St. Maarten, you also thought of us,” said a representative from a local St. Maarten orphanage who were the recipients of an overflowing laundry cart filled with children’s shoes, clothing, and arts and craft supplies.
The donation was organized by National Agents Alliance, a life insurance sales organization based in Burlington, NC, USA, and Foresters, a fraternal benefit society based in Toronto, Canada.
Insurance professionals from National Agents Alliance were invited by Foresters to enjoy a free 5-day trip to the Carribean island of St. Maarten as their way of rewarding those agents who helped place an extraordinary amount of Foresters life insurance products during the year 2009. Prior to the trip, National Agents Alliance and Foresters committed and planned to bring needed items to the orphanage to meet the needs of the children there, who range in age from a few months to 18 years old. In addition to the donated items, National Agents Alliance agents donated hundreds of dollars for the orphanage to use at their descretion.
“Foresters always finds new ways to give back to the communities they serve,” said National Agents Alliance CEO Andy Albright, “and National Agents Alliance is proud to participate alongside Foresters in any way we can.”
Albright continued, “Our agents are ready and willing to help worthy causes like these. Foresters told us these folks needed help, and NAA rose to the occasion. I’m proud of our organization and the hearts our agents have for those in need.”
In addition to today’s donation, National Agents Alliance agents recently contributed funds to purchase a school bus for a Christian mission in India, and gives away two $500 scholarships each month to deserving students across the U.S. through its sister company, KIT Marketing.
Foresters also has a heart for helping, particularly with children. For the past 20 years, Foresters has been a proud supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network, and has raised more than $400 million in funds for that cause. Additionally, Foresters helps build playgrounds for communities across the nation.
