Local Scouts to Name Albright ‘Man Of The Year’ at Annual Banquet

BURLINGTON, N.C. – The local Boy Scouts of America Old North State Council will hold its annual Alamance County Man of the Year banquet to honor this year’s recipient Andy Albright and to raise funds to benefit Scouting youth in Alamance County on Thursday, May 31 at 6 p.m. at the Alliance Convention Center.

There is no cost to attend the event, but attendees are asked to consider making a pledge to support the local Old North State Council, which provides leadership training and character development to 8,700 young men and women within an eight-county service area.

Jim Allegretto, Alamance County District Executive of the local Old North State Council, Boy Scouts of America, said the impact the BSA makes on young people will help shape the future of the United States.

“Scouting develops the next generation of leaders thanks to support from community leaders like Andy Albright,” Allegretto said. “It is our pleasure to call Andy a ‘Friend of Scouting’ and to recognize his contributions to the betterment of our youth.”

Albright is the co-founder of National Agents Alliance (aka The Alliance), a motivational speaker and author from Burlington, N.C. He is a member of the Entrepreneurship Initiative Advisory Board at North Carolina State University and is active in several areas with the university. He supports leadership in business, the community and growth in Alamance County.

“I love what the Boy Scouts of America do for young people and the communities that we call home,” Albright said. “They teach values, morals and principles that help mold and shape young people in citizens that eventually help contribute to society in a positive and productive manner. It’s humbling that our local Scouts would consider for me for such an award, and I want to thank them for selecting me for this award.”

When lived out, the BSA’s values and principles guide youth from insecure adolescents to confident adults living lives with integrity. There are more than 5 million BSA alumni, who help BSA stand alone in making a positive impact on the youth and families of towns, the state of North Carolina and the United States.

The BSA is one of the largest Scouting organizations in the United States of America and one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, with more than 2.4 million youth participants and nearly one million adult volunteers. The BSA was founded in 1910, and since then, more than 110 million Americans have been participants in BSA programs at some time. The BSA is part of the international Scout Movement and became a founding member organization of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922.

Several sponsorship levels are available for this event, and can be secured by calling Allegretto at 336.378.9166 or via email at jim.allegretto@scouting.org. The Alliance Convention Center is located at 1214 Turrentine St. in Burlington, N.C.

“We look forward to seeing everyone on May 31 for an outstanding tribute to Andy Albright and a salute to the local Scouting youth,” Allegretto said. “It will be an inspirational evening you will not want to miss!”
