BURLINGTON, N.C. (October 16, 2014) – If you’ve spent any time on social media lately, you’ve probably seen numerous versions of people lip dub Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off” in various settings.
National Agents Alliance took the idea and ran with it on a normal Monday morning in hopes of helping people start their week and workday off on the right foot.
Now, The Alliance is challenging other workplaces and employees to “Shake It Off” when they start to have negative thoughts or feelings about heading to work on Monday mornings. The insurance marketing organization produced a video at its corporate offices in Burlington, N.C. and posted the video on Youtube and other social media outlets in hopes of helping people forget about the typical “Monday blues.”
Additionally, NAA has entered ABC’s Good Morning America Ultimate “Shake It Off” video contest. The winner will be announced live on GMA on Oct. 30 when Swift performs a live concert in New York City.
The inspiration for making the video was to dispel the myth that Mondays at work are a bad thing. Staff members from every department of NAA were featured in the video, and it’s clear that The Alliance knows how to have fun at work. NAA doesn’t believe in manic Mondays, and from the time you enter the door the energy is high and people are laughing and having fun.
NAA creative director Jay Daugherty said making the video was another way to showcase how NAA follows its motto of “Have Fun, Make Money and Make a Difference.”
“We were talking about how so many people dread going to work on Monday morning and we don’t feel that way about what we do,” Daugherty said. “So why not show people that with a fun video that’s blowing up on the web? That’s really what got this project rolling and our entire staff had a lot of fun making the video. We hope it makes people laugh, gets them in a good mood and they have a better day because they saw us having fun at work.”
